After 10 years at the Garden, Kristin Bernert returns to her roots.
The Stow native has been hired as president of business operations for Columbus Crew football club, Haslam Sports Group has announced.
Bernert will lead all commercial activities for the crew, including fan engagement and marketing; community partnerships and impact; gaming experience and facility management; ticket sales and services; corporate partnerships and overall revenue generation; and organizational administration.
Bernert spent 10 years in leadership roles at Madison Square Garden Sports, becoming Executive Vice President of Business Operations in 2018. She led business initiatives for all MSGS teams and affiliates, encompassing the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, Westchester Knicks, Hartford Wolf. Pack, Knicks Gaming and Counter Logic Gaming. She left MSGS in April 2021 to found her own agency, KB2 Sports.

Bernert worked as a sales representative for the Cleveland Indians from 2000 to 2002. She also served as assistant marketing manager at Ohio State (1997) and assistant athletic director at Bowling Green (1998-2000). She holds a master’s degree in sports management from Ohio State and a bachelor’s degree from Siena College, where she played in 106 games in 59 starts as a Saints point guard.
She was named “Notable Woman in the Business of Sports” by Crain’s New York Business in 2019.
